01:21.220 --> 01:22.600 Because I think we'll start there. 01:23.240 --> 01:24.580 Now that's a great story. 01:25.220 --> 01:27.060 In 1995... 01:27.882 --> 01:31.702 We began what was called the Prophetic Conference in Maui. 01:31.702 --> 01:33.602 It was a friend of mine who said to me, 01:33.602 --> 01:35.122 you ought to have a prophetic conference. 01:35.122 --> 01:36.782 Well, I didn't know what a prophetic conference was. 01:36.782 --> 01:39.942 I thought it was the charts on the wall that would talk to, 01:39.942 --> 01:42.522 you know, that tell what's going to happen at the end of time. 01:42.522 --> 01:44.222 He said, oh, no, call-out rooms. 01:44.222 --> 01:45.522 I said, call-out rooms? 06:00.960 --> 06:02.860 And there was a pastor that was sitting at our table. 06:02.860 --> 06:03.819 She starts laughing. 06:03.820 --> 06:05.400 I'm like, why are you laughing? 06:05.400 --> 06:06.700 It's like, well, if Dr. Morocco said it, 06:06.700 --> 06:08.500 it's because the Lord told him in prayer, 06:08.500 --> 06:09.760 and you're gonna be part of Kings 06:09.760 --> 06:10.699 and you're gonna go to Dallas. 06:10.700 --> 06:12.400 I'm like, yeah, I don't think so. 06:12.400 --> 06:16.080 But shortly afterwards, that's exactly what happened. 06:16.080 --> 06:17.880 Really? What changed your mind? 06:17.879 --> 06:20.159 Well, I was at a conference there with my wife, 06:20.439 --> 06:22.139 and I just felt like the Lord said, do it. 06:22.419 --> 06:25.519 And so I went right afterwards, spoke to Dr. Morocco, 06:26.299 --> 06:29.119 and I wanted to, I knew I had to be obedient at the moment 06:29.119 --> 06:31.319 or I would have made an excuse to not obey. 06:31.999 --> 06:32.898 That's a good word. 06:32.899 --> 06:36.319 And I went immediately, I told my wife, we're going to do this. 06:36.499 --> 06:38.899 And Dr. Morocco was like, well, what needs to happen? 06:39.719 --> 06:41.279 And I said, well, we need to sell our house, 06:41.419 --> 06:44.179 and we need to, my wife has to finish her practice. 06:44.259 --> 06:46.319 She was studying marriage and family therapy 06:46.319 --> 06:47.799 and getting her master's degree. 06:48.254 --> 06:51.234 And he's like, okay, so we set a date, and that's what we did. 06:51.614 --> 06:54.594 And there's a whole lot of things that happened from that point on. 06:55.674 --> 07:04.994 He was my first Spanish pastor in Dallas, and he organized a Spanish church while I had another pastor, Pastor Chris Davis, who did the English. 07:05.454 --> 07:10.774 And then Pastor Chris moved on to do some other things, and you took over the whole work. 07:10.874 --> 07:10.993 Right. 07:10.994 --> 07:13.214 And then his father— 07:13.803 --> 07:16.803 began to do works all through Europe for kings. 07:17.003 --> 07:17.522 Right. 07:17.523 --> 07:20.583 And so he became the pastor in Chile. 07:21.023 --> 07:21.382 Right. 07:21.383 --> 07:24.263 And he's done an incredible job. 07:24.363 --> 07:25.363 The church is growing. 07:25.523 --> 07:27.203 We have extensions throughout Chile. 07:27.203 --> 07:29.683 And he's over now all of Latin America, 07:29.803 --> 07:31.843 and we're opening churches all over Latin America. 07:31.977 --> 07:35.497 So your one act of obedience would open up a series 07:43.157 because it's so easy you can talk yourself out of something 07:43.157 --> 07:44.817 that God is clearly calling to. 07:44.817 --> 07:47.197 And then you miss your window of opportunity. 07:47.197 --> 07:49.397 And God can always reroute you back. 07:49.397 --> 07:51.877 But obedience is very important. 07:51.877 --> 07:55.137 The Bible says obedience is better than sacrifice. 08:10.733 --> 08:11.733 Wow. 08:11.733 --> 08:14.973 And God speaks to me, I want you to go to Dallas and start a hub. 08:14.973 --> 08:21.053 I tried to remind him, I'm the global senior pastor of a very large church of thousands. 08:21.053 --> 08:23.033 It didn't impress him at all. 08:24.712 --> 08:30.392 And so the only thing I could do was I wrote a list of all the things he had to do if I was going to go. 08:30.832 --> 08:32.312 He did every one of them. 08:32.552 --> 08:37.532 So at that point, just as with Bruno, the issue was do I obey or disobey? 08:38.052 --> 08:40.292 And I was 74 then. 08:41.172 --> 08:43.652 It's not a good plan to disobey at 74. 08:43.892 --> 08:45.392 You don't have much time to fix it. 08:45.812 --> 08:47.412 So I came to Dallas. 08:47.612 --> 08:49.012 I'm thankful he called me here. 08:49.092 --> 08:51.292 I'm thankful God's doing the great work and everything. 08:51.728 --> 08:58.908 And God's going to allow us out of Dallas to see many churches spawn all over the nation and all over the world. 08:59.688 --> 09:01.388 I just flew to Indonesia. 09:01.568 --> 09:03.308 We have about 200 pastors there. 09:03.568 --> 09:06.308 And all over the 09:26.373 one of the most important things with following Jesus 09:26.373 --> 09:29.293 is being flexible enough, even as you get older, 09:29.393 --> 09:30.473 which is harder when you get, 09:30.633 --> 09:32.233 the older you get, the more settled you are, right? 09:32.553 --> 09:33.052 Yeah, that's true. 09:33.053 --> 09:35.213 But you have to remain flexible that if he says, 09:35.473 --> 09:37.193 go here, you'll go. 09:37.433 --> 09:40.693 And I mean, you had a great life and yet you were obedient. 09:41.133 --> 09:42.072 And what I think about, 09:42.073 --> 09:44.133 I heard someone say this yesterday on another podcast. 09:44.133 --> 09:46.733 And she said, when God sees us, 09:47.233 --> 09:50.133 he sees the generations after us. 09:50.133 --> 09:54.093 And everything that we're doing, the decisions that He's having us make, 09:54.193 --> 09:58.933 like the things He's calling us to do, affect, He says, all like 50 generations down the line. 09:59.733 --> 10:01.313 And it hit me so profoundly. 10:01.433 --> 10:02.532 I was like, wow. 10:02.533 --> 10:05.753 Like, we might not understand, like, why am I enduring this? 10:05.773 --> 10:07.133 Or why am I going called me to take a little church on Maui. 10:26.179 --> 10:28.019 It was 100 people. 10:28.019 --> 10:33.359 I remember that first time I preached on a Sunday morning. 10:33.359 --> 10:37.079 It was interesting because the week before, the church 10:37.079 --> 10:40.139 had called and said, would you be open to? 10:40.139 --> 10:42.239 It was a small church, and I was pastoring 10:42.239 --> 10:44.819 in a very large church in Honolulu, 10:44.819 --> 10:46.079 part of a pastoral team. 10:46.411 --> 10:49.291 I flew there on a Sunday night because I didn't know if it was God. 10:49.551 --> 10:54.611 There were 30 people in church, which was a huge crowd because normally there was only 12. 10:55.551 --> 11:02.291 Well, the following Sunday, I get a call from a board member and says, just called to congratulate you. 11:02.311 --> 11:03.951 I said, congratulate me on what? 11:04.451 --> 11:06.831 He said, we just elected you as our new pastor. 11:07.091 --> 11:09.871 I said, I don't know if I want to be your pastor. 11:10.551 --> 11:11.490 I'll tell you what I'll do. 11:11.491 --> 11:12.851 I'll fast and pray for a week. 11:12.851 --> 11:15.451 I'll come preach for you Sunday morning, and I'll let you know. 11:16.432 --> 11:21.812 So I fasted and God gave me a vision of what he wanted to do on Maui, a massive church on a little island. 11:22.752 --> 11:24.292 And to touch a world from there. 11:25.763 --> 11:27.543 So I flew back on Sunday morning. 11:27.703 --> 11:28.723 I preached on vision. 11:29.243 --> 11:31.563 I did something I'd never heard anybody ever do. 11:31.643 --> 11:34.483 At the end of the service, I gave everybody a ballot, 11:35.243 --> 11:37.683 and I asked them to write yes or no on that ballot. 11:38.303 --> 11:40.563 The reason being, I knew that if I had a vision, 11:40.663 --> 11:42.123 but the people didn't have a vision, 11:42.203 --> 11:44.783 I was going to be wasting my time, and I didn't need a job. 11:45.083 --> 11:47.043 I was in a tremendous church in Honolulu. 11:47.243 --> 11:48.182 Yeah. 11:48.183 --> 11:50.243 So at the end of the service, they voted, 11:50.243 --> 11:53.683 and I took their ballots because they had already elected me as their pastor, 11:53.843 --> 11:55.243 but I didn't know if I should come. 11:56.172 --> 11:57.252 And I counted the ballots. 11:57.392 --> 11:58.812 It was overwhelmingly yes. 12:00.012 --> 12:04.052 And so I knew they'd caught the vision. 12:04.372 --> 12:06.292 And then I sat with the board of directors. 12:06.452 --> 12:07.712 The church was very poor. 12:08.412 --> 12:11.832 The entire income of the church for a whole year was $50,000. 12:12.192 --> 12:13.212 That's all that came in. 12:14.032 --> 12:17.772 And the interesting thing about it, out of that you paid the pastor, 12:17.772 --> 12:19.752 all the missionaries, all the upkeep of the church. 12:20.072 --> 12:22.952 They couldn't pay me what I was getting paid in Honolulu. 12:23.780 --> 12:27.720 And one person gave one quarter of that entire amount. 12:27.720 --> 12:31.060 So you never wanted to offend that one person, 12:31.060 --> 12:34.000 you'd lose a quarter of your income. 12:34.000 --> 12:36.720 And that was where we came. 12:36.720 --> 12:39.580 And so, and I'm sitting there going, 12:39.580 --> 12:42.200 Lord, how do we do this? 12:42.200 --> 12:44.440 Well, I had to find out if they were gonna take 12:44.440 --> 12:46.100 Steps of Faith, that board. 12:47.000 --> 12:50.280 So I said to them, if I become your pastor, 12:50.280 --> 12:52.520 I want you to hire me a full-time secretary. 12:53.108 --> 12:59.088 Well, there was no church in Maui that had a full-time secretary, and they couldn't even pay me, let alone a secretary. 12:59.768 --> 13:00.968 And it was real quiet. 13:02.188 --> 13:08.268 Finally, one guy popped up and says, Pastor, whatever you want to do, that's what we're going to do. 13:08.428 --> 13:09.267 Oh, wow. 13:09.268 --> 13:11.608 And they chose to do that, even though they didn't have the money. 13:12.908 --> 13:16.408 I said, okay, I'll be your pastor, because they passed the test. 13:16.408 --> 13:18.234 Yeah. 13:18.235 --> 13:22.095 People don't realize that a great church is not built 13:22.095 --> 13:25.995 just by a great personality or by some person 13:25.995 --> 13:27.595 who has some great charisma. 13:27.595 --> 13:28.835 That'll last for a while, 13:28.835 --> 13:30.875 but it won't build great churches. 13:30.875 --> 13:33.715 It's the people with vision. 13:33.715 --> 13:37.355 It's the board who's willing to take steps of faith, 13:37.355 --> 13:39.995 even at their own personal risk. 13:39.995 --> 13:42.655 And a pastor that's willing to lay it all down, 13:42.655 --> 13:44.355 say, this is what we're going to do. 13:44.948 --> 13:48.368 And we doubled the first Sunday in a year and a half. 13:48.468 --> 13:49.628 We were at 1,000 people. 13:49.768 --> 13:50.027 Wow. 13:50.028 --> 13:52.368 We became one of the fastest growing churches in America. 13:52.808 --> 13:54.968 Took over the largest facility on the island. 13:55.728 --> 14:01.168 And from there, God had us become the pastor of the entire county, which is three islands. 14:01.548 --> 14:05.368 I'd fly to another island every Sunday, plus preach on Maui. 14:05.848 --> 14:11.888 And we did Maui, Molokai, and then we built the largest grandfather made sure that he was treated with dignity. 23:19.698 --> 23:21.678 Well, this was his son that was raising his hand. 23:21.678 --> 23:23.478 So they said, okay, we'll let you go, saved. 24:22.812 --> 24:24.352 And from the one day to the next, 24:24.352 --> 24:27.612 he completely stopped, doesn't drink any more alcohol. 24:27.612 --> 24:30.312 I mean, it's just complete transformation. 24:30.312 --> 24:32.972 And my grandmother thinks that he's just pretending 24:32.972 --> 24:35.312 because he doesn't want me to leave. 24:35.312 --> 24:37.432 So she comes to church with him 24:37.432 --> 24:38.852 to kind of see what it's all about. 24:38.852 --> 24:40.192 She ends up receiving the Lord, 24:40.192 --> 24:42.672 and then my father and my aunt and my uncle. and then planting churches and Bible schools 24:53.428 --> 24:57.768 in Peru and Argentina and in different places, in Bolivia. 24:58.368 --> 25:01.368 And he's part of a great movement with the Symbols of God. 25:01.528 --> 25:04.548 There was a time where they planted over 300 churches in one year. 25:04.788 --> 25:05.127 Wow. 25:05.128 --> 25:09.888 And just God used him absolutely 32:54.320 --> 32:56.560 Yeah, and he spoke seven languages. 32:56.560 --> 32:57.059 What? 32:57.060 --> 33:03.820 And then the third term as a missionary, instead of going back to India, went to the Philippines. 33:03.822 --> 33:06.662 And he pastored the largest church in the Philippines 33:06.662 --> 33:11.302 for many years and then turned it over to David Summerall, 33:11.302 --> 33:13.822 who now pastors it today. 33:13.822 --> 33:17.382 But, and David's done a great job. 33:17.382 --> 33:20.542 That's Lester Summerall's grand nephew. 33:20.542 --> 33:24.382 And what happened is that dad and mom 33:24.382 --> 33:25.702 were great prayer warriors. 33:25.702 --> 33:28.482 Well, they joined my staff in 1984. 33:28.482 --> 33:30.242 I'd been on Maui for four years. 33:30.242 --> 33:32.722 He starts an early morning prayer meeting 33:33.185 --> 33:35.225 from 5.30 to 6.30. 33:35.225 --> 33:38.265 That prayer meeting has gone unstopped. 33:38.265 --> 33:39.104 Really? 34:02.974 --> 34:09.714 My dad traveled to Korea and preached for Dr. Cho 34:09.714 --> 34:12.234 when his church was only 5,000 people. 34:13.694 --> 34:18.574 And he was the only evangelist that got up for early morning prayer meetings. 34:19.760 --> 34:21.980 that Cho had, you know. 34:21.980 --> 34:23.360 It was like what at four in the morning or something? 34:23.360 --> 34:24.600 Four in the morning. 34:24.600 --> 34:26.480 And dad would get up freezing cold 34:26.480 --> 34:27.760 and go to the prayer meeting. 34:27.760 --> 34:29.740 And he had a powerful move of God, 34:29.740 --> 34:32.660 the Holy Spirit moved on that church. 34:32.660 --> 34:37.460 Well, fast forward in 1983, 34:37.460 --> 34:41.720 he comes, Cho comes to my church on Maui. 34:44.140 --> 34:46.940 We were having a church growth conference and he came 34:46.940 --> 34:48.520 and he gets up and he says this, 34:49.139 --> 34:51.519 He says, I'm not here because of this pastor. 34:52.439 --> 34:54.619 He says, I'm here because of his dad. 34:55.079 --> 34:56.619 I'm repaying a debt. 34:58.359 --> 35:00.799 And then he invites me to be on his board. 35:01.459 --> 35:04.639 And the largest churches in the world were on his board. 35:05.575 --> 35:09.615 And you feel like you're a kid in a candy shop, 35:09.615 --> 35:13.695 just overwhelmed by the tremendous people 35:13.695 --> 35:16.295 you get to talk to. 35:16.295 --> 35:20.015 And I sat next to Oral Roberts and he was sharing with me 35:20.015 --> 35:22.115 all the money he had to raise as we were flying 35:22.115 --> 35:25.455 to some place to have a retreat 35:25.455 --> 35:26.875 with all these great leaders. 35:26.875 --> 35:29.355 It's been overwhelming. 35:29.355 --> 35:32.575 And it was just simply the favor of God. 35:32.575 --> 35:34.995 And dad started that prayer meeting 35:35.680 --> 35:37.620 He was there two years, died. 35:37.760 --> 35:38.900 He's buried on Maui. 35:39.480 --> 35:42.760 But that thing has been the thing that has kept us. 35:43.260 --> 35:47.040 And every king's is marked by prayer. 35:47.380 --> 35:49.320 And so that's a part of the culture in the church. 35:49.620 --> 35:50.539 It has to be. 35:50.540 --> 35:52.740 You can't be kings every morning. 35:53.000 --> 35:55.680 What would you say to pastors and people personally? 42:31.836 --> 42:33.756 And I remember they came home, 42:33.756 --> 42:35.776 they picked us up from a pastor's house 42:35.776 --> 42:39.336 and we're just driving home and they're real quiet. 42:39.336 --> 42:43.536 And if you know my parents, they're very communicative. 42:43.536 --> 42:45.216 They love to communicate, but they were quiet 42:45.216 --> 42:48.536 and they were hushed whispers up front in the front seat. 42:48.536 --> 42:50.036 And I remember we were driving up to our house 42:50.036 --> 42:51.956 and as we're approaching the house, 42:52.135 --> 42:53.615 they start speaking in a language 42:53.615 --> 42:55.855 that I had never heard them speak. 42:55.855 --> 42:57.615 And they start speaking in tongues, 42:57.615 --> 42:59.195 but I don't know that's what it is. 42:59.195 --> 43:01.555 And so they're speaking and it gets louder 43:01.555 --> 43:02.975 and louder and louder. 43:02.975 --> 43:04.835 And so I just look at my brother, I was like, 43:04.835 --> 43:07.115 you know those exorcism movies we weren't allowed to watch, 43:07.115 --> 43:09.955 but did anyways, I think this is that situation. 43:09.955 --> 43:12.075 So we're gonna have to roll out of this minivan 43:12.075 --> 43:14.475 and just go live in the woods somewhere, right? 43:14.478 --> 43:17.498 I remember they come running out of this van, 43:17.498 --> 43:19.698 they run into the front door of our house. 43:19.698 --> 43:22.358 And my brother and I are just standing there in the yard, 43:22.358 --> 43:25.418 watching them chuck all this stuff out of our home. 43:25.418 --> 43:28.758 And as you probably would imagine, right, Asian households, 43:28.758 --> 43:32.218 we have a lot of things that have dragons on them 43:32.218 --> 43:33.077 and symbols. 43:33.078 --> 43:35.638 And so that was at that moment where I realized 43:35.638 --> 43:37.058 their spiritual retreat was like 43:37.058 --> 43:39.058 a for real spiritual retreat. 43:39.048 --> 43:40.628 And so they started doing something called 43:40.628 --> 43:41.668 spiritual house cleaning. 43:41.668 --> 43:44.728 Everything that was tied to the demonic or anything 43:44.728 --> 43:47.508 just kicked it out of the house, even if it was just cultural. 43:47.508 --> 43:50.848 And I just remember that season of my life 43:50.848 --> 43:53.568 being introduced to the Holy Spirit 43:53.568 --> 43:56.488 in a way that was really kind of getting thrown 43:56.488 --> 43:57.768 into the deep end. 43:57.768 --> 43:59.508 You know, and my parents did the best that they could, 43:59.508 --> 44:01.808 but my first Holy Ghost filled, 44:01.808 --> 44:03.348 Dr. you'll appreciate this. 44:03.348 --> 44:06.588 My first Holy Ghost Spirit filled service I ever went to 44:06.588 --> 44:08.408 was a mass deliverance service. 44:08.410 --> 44:09.509 Oh no. 44:09.510 --> 44:12.370 I'm rolling into Trinity Church in Hudson Valley, New York. 44:12.370 --> 44:16.570 And I walk in there and I see people levitating on balconies. 44:16.710 --> 44:20.290 I see people like getting rid of demons and everything. 44:20.490 --> 44:23.830 And I look at my parents and I was like, what have you done? I mean, long story short, like for me, I was responsible for every purity conference one summer in 2004 within 150 mile radius. I had just hit rock bottom. And I just remember going to this, my Asian mom was like, you're 16 years old. I still own you. So I'm sending you to church camp, right? And yeah. 45:28.432 --> 45:32.092 Wait, you did the purity conferences, but you were not living for the Lord? 45:32.132 --> 45:34.092 I was the cause of the purity conferences. 45:34.412 --> 45:38.632 So at 16 years old, I had been living a double life. 45:38.752 --> 45:40.152 I was going to a private high school. 45:40.372 --> 45:41.532 I was National Honor Society. 45:41.652 --> 45:43.151 I was doing all these things. 45:43.152 --> 45:46.432 But on the other side of this, I was a hard partier. 45:47.272 --> 45:52.352 I was in the black market UPS logistics business, right? 45:52.432 --> 45:55.592 I was doing stuff that I wasn't supposed to, and I was partying heavy. 45:55.592 --> 45:56.696 And I remember... 45:56.697 --> 45:59.157 My girlfriend at the time, she calls me and goes, 45:59.157 --> 46:01.517 you're going to be a dad at 16 years old. 46:01.937 --> 46:04.157 And that was like a weird part for me 46:04.157 --> 46:06.417 because it was in that moment 46:06.417 --> 46:10.397 where the first thing that came out of my mouth was, 46:10.997 --> 46:13.857 I told out of my mouth, I said, I have to live. 46:14.753 --> 46:17.933 And I had no idea why I said that in the moment. 46:17.933 --> 46:20.273 And then it became very real to me 46:20.273 --> 46:22.113 that all of the things that I thought I was doing 46:22.113 --> 46:26.733 to make myself happy was actually me doing actions 46:26.733 --> 46:29.793 to try to end my life because of the rejection 46:29.793 --> 46:32.273 that I had experienced as a child. 46:32.270 --> 46:33.710 And I didn't think I was worth anything. 46:34.390 --> 46:39.770 And so I was doing all of these things unconsciously, trying to leave a world that I didn't think I belonged in. 46:40.010 --> 46:40.629 Wow. 46:40.630 --> 46:44.910 And it was incredible because then here I am expecting to be a father. 46:45.410 --> 46:48.610 And I realized that I can't leave. 46:49.590 --> 46:50.850 I'm about to be a dad. 46:50.930 --> 46:52.910 I have to figure this out. 46:52.908 --> 46:56.208 So it was in that moment where I didn't figure it out well. 46:56.208 --> 47:00.048 I got very angry, super bitter, but my mom was like, 47:00.048 --> 47:01.088 listen, I still own you. 47:01.088 --> 47:01.927 You're still a minor. 47:01.928 --> 47:02.847 You're going to church camp. 47:02.848 --> 47:04.128 And I'm like, just send me to jail. 47:04.128 --> 47:05.248 I don't wanna go to church camp. 47:05.248 --> 47:07.048 Like homeschoolers go there. 47:07.048 --> 47:09.468 It's a mess, right? 47:09.468 --> 47:10.988 And I just remember that God speaks to me 47:10.988 --> 47:14.308 for the first time in that church camp. 47:14.308 --> 47:16.928 And he tells me this, he says, David, 47:16.928 --> 47:18.628 you think that you've destroyed your life 47:18.628 --> 47:20.208 where no one can fix it. 47:20.212 --> 47:23.232 But if you give me your life right now, 47:23.232 --> 47:24.932 what I'm gonna do is I'm not only gonna fix 47:24.932 --> 47:27.052 what you think can never be fixed, 47:27.052 --> 47:28.652 but I'm gonna give you a future 47:28.652 --> 47:30.812 that you could have never imagined." 47:30.812 --> 47:32.372 For the next three hours, 47:32.372 --> 47:34.852 he starts showing me visions and pictures 47:34.852 --> 47:36.452 of the things that I would do, 47:36.452 --> 47:38.112 the people that I would minister in front of. 47:38.112 --> 47:43.112 And I just remember laying under that anointing 47:43.352 --> 47:45.272 and feeling like a crazy person 47:45.272 --> 47:46.992 because I couldn't get up off the floor. 47:46.992 --> 47:50.772 And in spite of all of my doubt, all of my fears, 47:50.772 --> 47:52.852 saying there's no possible way, 47:52.852 --> 47:54.252 the Holy Spirit was just like, 47:54.252 --> 47:56.832 you just have to say yes, I'll take care of the rest. 47:56.832 --> 47:58.492 And so that's what I did. 47:58.492 --> 48:02.052 And that prophetic encounter was incredible 48:02.052 --> 48:04.292 because it helped me understand that 48:04.292 --> 48:08.012 even though I've had experienced rejection from people 48:08.012 --> 48:10.272 who are supposed to release and impart 48:10.272 --> 48:12.872 the heart of the Father to me, but didn't do a good job, 48:12.878 --> 48:19.378 Even in spite of that, the heart of the Father was that He loved me and wanted to redeem me. 48:19.378 --> 48:23.378 It was a really amazing time. It was incredible. 48:23.378 --> 48:25.378 But I still had that pain there. 48:25.378 --> 48:30.998 And a lot of times, I love the testimonies. 48:30.998 --> 48:33.918 I have friends that have the testimonies where they get saved. 48:34.411 --> 48:37.831 And their addiction to drugs is gone. 48:37.831 --> 48:40.011 Like they're like, they're applied for sainthood. 48:40.011 --> 48:41.891 It's incredible, right? 49:30.719 --> 49:31.799 Yeah, and I just remembered going, 49:31.799 --> 49:33.019 well, what do you mean, pastor? 49:33.019 --> 49:34.839 Like I'm plugged in and everything. 49:34.839 --> 49:36.339 I just wanna dedicate my child. 49:36.339 --> 49:40.079 And he goes, well, you had a child out of wedlock. 49:40.079 --> 49:42.979 And even though God loves this child, 49:42.979 --> 49:45.519 I can't have you in good conscious stand up there 49:45.519 --> 49:47.139 with your daughter and dedicate. 49:47.139 --> 49:48.739 And it didn't make sense to me at the time. 49:48.739 --> 49:51.299 And even now it doesn't make sense to me. 49:51.299 --> 49:53.839 But I just remember having that pain revisit me 49:53.839 --> 49:54.678 all over again. 49:54.679 --> 49:55.518 The rejection. 49:55.519 --> 49:56.358 The rejection. 49:56.359 --> 49:57.064 From the church. 49:57.065 --> 49:59.325 Oh yeah, and so it was crazy. 49:59.445 --> 50:01.245 But what God ended up doing in that moment 50:01.245 --> 50:02.825 was he shared with me, he says, 50:02.885 --> 50:04.825 David, I'm gonna move you from New York 50:04.825 --> 50:08.425 and I want you to go to a small little Bible college 50:08.425 --> 50:10.885 in Northwest Florida over in Destin. 50:11.585 --> 50:13.825 And I'm gonna teach you to become something 50:13.825 --> 50:14.905 that you won't understand. 50:15.728 --> 50:19.668 And it was in that moment where me broken, battered, 50:19.668 --> 50:22.368 still angry, battling with rejection. 50:22.368 --> 50:26.328 I go to this Bible college and God meets with me there. 50:26.328 --> 50:28.888 He actually sends me this amazing prophet 50:28.888 --> 50:32.008 who was on staff there, calls me, 50:32.008 --> 50:35.448 God gives him my phone number, calls me out of the blue 50:35.448 --> 50:38.408 and says, David Fang, God gave me your number. 50:38.408 --> 50:40.048 And he wanted me to tell you 50:40.048 --> 50:41.908 that if you'll stay your destiny's here. 50:43.032 --> 50:45.132 And I just remember experiencing that moment. 50:45.132 --> 50:48.492 I was like, okay, I'll stay. 50:48.492 --> 50:52.452 And that prophet for the next 15 years of my life 50:52.452 --> 50:55.712 began to pour into me, took me to all of the nations 50:55.712 --> 50:58.792 and taught me what it was to become a prophet, 50:58.792 --> 51:00.292 which was incredible. 51:00.292 --> 51:03.752 But how I got rid of my church hurt was because, 51:03.752 --> 51:06.172 sometimes you can minister and still be wounded. 51:06.472 --> 51:06.731 Yes. 51:06.732 --> 51:13.132 You can be very effective, you think in your own mind, but you still have that hurt on the inside of you. 51:13.632 --> 51:18.212 And I remember on a trip, I was on a trip to Taiwan and I was like crushing it on this trip. 51:18.312 --> 51:19.412 I'm just telling you, people were crying. 51:19.512 --> 51:21.172 I was like, oh my gosh, this is awesome. 51:22.272 --> 51:27.872 And this prophet looks at me and he goes, David, can you give me the definition of a false prophet? 51:28.172 --> 51:28.611 Okay. 51:28.612 --> 51:30.952 And so I was like, a definition of a false prophet, 51:30.952 --> 51:32.092 will they give an improper word? 51:32.092 --> 51:34.032 He goes, yeah, that's true. 51:34.032 --> 51:38.632 They don't have the, they have personal motives and agendas. 51:38.632 --> 51:40.792 You know, and he goes, yeah, that's true. 51:40.792 --> 51:42.372 And I just remember that moment he pauses 51:42.372 --> 51:44.392 and he looks at me, he goes, David, 51:44.392 --> 51:47.552 could a false prophet be as easy as someone 51:47.552 --> 51:50.352 who says I love you, but in their heart doesn't mean it. 51:52.492 --> 51:53.872 And that rocked me. 51:54.397 --> 51:58.277 because I realized that all of that ministry I was doing, 51:58.277 --> 52:01.997 I was still angry and upset at the very church 52:01.997 --> 52:03.497 I was called to minister to. 52:03.497 --> 52:05.277 Wow. 52:05.277 --> 52:08.477 And I just remember weeping and crying, 52:08.477 --> 52:10.477 saying, God, forgive me. 52:10.477 --> 52:14.177 How could I have carried your voice within me 52:14.177 --> 52:17.737 and have this brokenness on the inside of me? 52:17.737 --> 52:20.477 And God just embraced me in that moment. 52:20.477 --> 52:23.577 And He just said, son, I've been waiting for this moment. 52:23.759 --> 52:26.699 Everything up until this moment is so that I could heal you. 52:27.399 --> 52:32.059 And I just remember him mending my heart and just saying, you just got to forgive. 52:32.759 --> 52:35.279 And I didn't understand it, but I just said, I forgive. 52:36.099 --> 52:41.339 And out of that moment, God imparted such a love for me, for people. 52:42.338 --> 52:45.738 that I never thought about church hurt ever again. 52:45.738 --> 52:49.218 There are people that will mistreat me even now in ministry. 52:49.218 --> 52:50.518 I mean, you could be in a church 52:50.518 --> 52:53.458 and you'll get hurt at least five or six times. 52:53.458 --> 52:56.298 It doesn't even register with me anymore 52:56.298 --> 52:59.418 because God showed me not only His heart for me, 52:59.418 --> 53:02.218 but He showed me His heart for other people. 53:02.218 --> 53:03.818 And it just wrecked me. 53:03.818 --> 53:05.358 So ever since then, 53:05.358 --> 53:08.578 we're just rocking this prophetic ministry, 53:08.578 --> 53:09.618 getting it going. 53:09.794 --> 53:12.334 And would you say guys that with a prophet, 53:12.594 --> 53:14.194 because I've interviewed a couple of them, 53:14.334 --> 53:15.634 the difference between someone, 53:15.734 --> 53:17.154 because people can have prophetic gifting, 53:17.694 --> 53:18.914 like anyone in the church, I think, 53:18.994 --> 53:20.014 can operate in prophetic gifting, 53:20.234 --> 53:23.254 but a prophet, one person that I interviewed, 53:23.334 --> 53:25.894 he says a prophet, the gift can always act. 53:26.399 --> 53:33.939 It's not like, you know, like if someone in a moment has a prophetic unction of a prophetic gift, but I can't stand in front of anyone and just prophesy. 53:34.079 --> 53:38.559 But if you're a prophet, you can kind of stand in front of anyone and the gift can flow. 53:38.659 --> 53:39.658 Would you agree with that?
