00:58.860 --> 01:00.660 And that conviction, 01:00.660 --> 01:02.820 when you're convinced about the Word of God, 01:02.820 --> 01:04.860 that is when it'll enter your heart 01:04.860 --> 01:07.800 and will produce real movement in your life, 01:07.800 --> 01:09.120 to take you from where you are now 01:09.120 --> 01:11.340 to where God wants you to be. 01:11.340 --> 01:14.280 So are you ready to come with us on this journey 01:14.280 --> 01:16.890 to explore more about the process of believing, 01:16.890 --> 01:19.020 talking about conviction? 01:19.020 --> 01:22.080 Where's the Holy Spirit gonna take us to today? 01:22.080 --> 01:24.990 - So we can see the importance 01:24.990 --> 01:26.913 of the Holy Spirit in our lives, 01:26.913 --> 01:29.613 that faith is a gift from God. 01:30.870 --> 01:33.963 Faith is an ability to come from God. 01:35.130 --> 01:40.047 So when we talk about faith, Jesus say, "Have faith in God." 01:41.340 --> 01:43.800 For faith to come in God's Word, 01:43.800 --> 01:48.003 you must know the promise of God in that word, 01:48.003 --> 01:53.003 because without a definite promise, faith is not real. 01:54.150 --> 01:56.070 God promised to do something in your life 01:56.070 --> 01:58.383 and that's the seed hidden in the word. 01:59.520 --> 02:04.050 Now, to appropriate that promise in your life, 02:04.050 --> 02:06.240 you must pass for the first ingredient of faith, 02:06.240 --> 02:07.893 which is knowledge. 02:09.000 --> 02:14.000 Remember in Act 19:1-5, when Paul came to Ephesus, 02:15.510 --> 02:17.220 he realized that something was lacking 02:17.220 --> 02:19.383 in the worship of the church in Ephesus. 02:20.250 --> 02:22.650 And he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit 02:22.650 --> 02:23.697 when you believed?" 02:25.080 --> 02:28.140 Something told him that they didn't have the Holy Spirit. 02:28.140 --> 02:29.463 They worship was carnal, 02:30.630 --> 02:34.680 and Paul perceived it as a spiritual man. 02:34.680 --> 02:39.057 They said to him, "We have never heard about a Holy Spirit." 02:40.230 --> 02:42.423 So how can you have something you ignore? 02:43.740 --> 02:46.680 Faith demands revelation knowledge. 02:46.680 --> 02:49.623 Once you know a promise, definite promise, 02:51.240 --> 02:54.180 and you are convinced that promise is true for your life, 02:54.180 --> 02:57.123 then you can appropriate that promise. 02:58.020 --> 03:02.520 These are the ingredient, the stages of faith in our lives. 03:02.520 --> 03:05.360 So faith demands for revelation to know the mind of God, 03:05.360 --> 03:08.133 the will of God in the matter concerning you. 03:09.060 --> 03:13.170 Once you know it, you must have fully understanding 03:13.170 --> 03:17.970 of that revelation, his truthfulness. 03:17.970 --> 03:20.490 Now once you come to that stand, 03:20.490 --> 03:21.990 you will no longer reject that truth. 03:21.990 --> 03:22.920 You're ready to accept it. 03:22.920 --> 03:25.583 But when the Holy Ghost tell you, 03:25.583 --> 03:29.190 that that promise is for you, it is true for your life, 03:29.190 --> 03:31.590 then it will take you to conviction. 03:31.590 --> 03:32.940 What this conviction mean? 03:32.940 --> 03:36.390 Yes, this is true for me, it's true for my life. 03:36.390 --> 03:39.570 Then I can act faith to appropriate it 03:39.570 --> 03:41.640 or to claim that into my life. 03:41.640 --> 03:44.880 And that brings to movement born by faith. 03:44.880 --> 03:46.410 That's what the Bible says, 03:46.410 --> 03:48.870 because I believe, I'm convicted it is true, 03:48.870 --> 03:51.393 therefore, I confess to Jesus as my Lord. 03:52.560 --> 03:56.530 So this is the process of believing 03:57.540 --> 04:01.770 in the power of the Holy Spirit, divine faith, faith in God. 04:01.770 --> 04:05.280 So, last time we talk about understanding the question, 04:05.280 --> 04:06.843 what do you do with the truth? 04:08.520 --> 04:11.520 When he come to the knowledge that Jesus is Lord 04:11.520 --> 04:15.693 and he died at the cross of Calvary for you and me, 04:16.590 --> 04:18.690 because Jesus sad at the cross, "Father forgive them." 04:18.690 --> 04:20.520 - Hmm. "They don't know what they do." 04:20.520 --> 04:22.473 - It includes you. It includes me. 04:23.370 --> 04:26.580 Because he did not die for a certain type of people, 04:26.580 --> 04:27.963 but for the whole world. 04:29.730 --> 04:33.428 Not only for Israel, but for the whole world. 04:33.428 --> 04:35.730 That was the promise of heaven. 04:35.730 --> 04:39.720 To everybody who believes in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, 04:39.720 --> 04:42.390 receive forgiveness of sins upon repentance 04:42.390 --> 04:46.023 and eternal life by faith believing in Christ Jesus. 04:47.220 --> 04:49.170 So we must meet the condition 04:49.170 --> 04:51.603 given in the Word of God for salvation. 04:53.040 --> 04:57.270 The conviction is to believe, genuinely. That is it. 04:57.270 --> 04:58.410 That's the highway to heaven. 04:58.410 --> 05:01.310 Believe, that's our connection to heaven, to eternal life. 05:02.340 --> 05:06.560 Now today, we realize that someone may have a revelation, 05:07.823 --> 05:12.120 but that revelation will not be active, alive, 05:12.120 --> 05:14.970 until you come to spiritual understanding 05:14.970 --> 05:17.610 that the revelation is for now. (chuckles) 05:17.610 --> 05:19.807 Some believe it's a history. 05:19.807 --> 05:23.610 "So, I just see history of the Bible by New Testament, 05:23.610 --> 05:25.500 so I don't think it's real for me." 05:25.500 --> 05:27.270 Faith is now. 05:27.270 --> 05:31.320 You have to believe that this reality is for me. 05:31.320 --> 05:35.643 Now faith acts now, believes now, and receives now. 05:37.980 --> 05:42.980 So it means, what act of faith means, it is not our brain, 05:45.150 --> 05:48.580 someone may believe, you can reason somebody 05:49.500 --> 05:51.240 to believe something, 05:51.240 --> 05:53.970 but that belief cannot stand the test of time. 05:53.970 --> 05:58.830 When circumstances contrary to that belief comes, 05:58.830 --> 06:02.040 if the person has no root, belief is a root, 06:02.040 --> 06:05.250 he can be shake and say, "Hey, I don't believe anymore. 06:05.250 --> 06:06.087 I went back." 06:07.320 --> 06:08.730 Many saw the miracle of Jesus. 06:08.730 --> 06:12.480 We in the first section we talk about in John 6 06:12.480 --> 06:14.550 when Jesus multiplied the bread and the wine, 06:14.550 --> 06:16.800 people saw the miracle and they followed Jesus 06:16.800 --> 06:18.420 for selfish reason. 06:18.420 --> 06:20.130 Jesus knew that. 06:20.130 --> 06:23.850 To test their faith Jesus said, "He who eats my flesh 06:23.850 --> 06:26.520 and drinks, my blood has everlasting life." 06:26.520 --> 06:30.570 They say, "Ha. It is hard to believe." 06:30.570 --> 06:33.480 - They didn't understand. - And they were offended. 06:33.480 --> 06:35.223 And they left Jesus, 06:36.210 --> 06:41.070 because they failed to understand what he was saying. 06:41.070 --> 06:43.720 They were in the natural. I'm having dizziness. 12:17.250 --> 12:19.500 I'm feeling this nausea. 12:19.500 --> 12:22.410 It has been happening for so many times, 12:22.410 --> 12:24.480 so it gives me worry. 12:24.480 --> 12:25.830 That's why I come and see you." 12:25.830 --> 12:27.930 Doctor will be going to ask you questions, 12:29.010 --> 12:33.816 and from there he will come to the conclusion, 12:33.816 --> 12:36.030 the deduction, that this is the conclusion, 12:36.030 --> 12:38.370 that this is the problem you have. 12:38.370 --> 12:41.940 And from there, based to his professionalism practice, 12:41.940 --> 12:43.710 he will give you some treatment 12:43.710 --> 12:46.350 to bring solution to it after a while. 12:46.350 --> 12:48.213 But you realize it, 12:49.140 --> 12:51.243 everything started by the patient itself. 12:53.550 --> 12:57.633 So the body send a signal that this is not right, 12:58.920 --> 13:02.100 and one day or somebody said, give you advice, 13:02.100 --> 13:04.860 and nutrition said, this is not good. 13:04.860 --> 13:08.337 If it takes too much of this one, this will happen to you. 13:08.337 --> 13:12.720 Say, "Hey, I never knew this. How can I get out of this?" 14:46.766 --> 14:49.473 They will tell you there's no willpower against it. 14:51.960 --> 14:53.010 What is the way out? 14:53.010 --> 14:57.480 The Bible says Jesus has come to set us free 14:57.480 --> 14:59.520 from the law of sin and death. 14:59.520 --> 15:00.960 - From sin and his penalties. 15:00.960 --> 15:01.803 - Absolutely. 15:02.970 --> 15:05.770 Now, if I'm convinced about the teaching 15:07.230 --> 15:09.900 that who Jesus is, what he has done, 15:09.900 --> 15:12.510 and the benefits of the Calvary 15:12.510 --> 15:15.090 and the substitutional factor of Christ's death for you 15:15.090 --> 15:17.970 at the cross of Calvary, that God offer forgiveness 15:17.970 --> 15:20.163 to everybody who repents and come to him. 15:21.090 --> 15:24.630 If now the Holy Ghost help you give you conviction of heart, 15:24.630 --> 15:26.190 this is true for my life, 15:26.190 --> 15:28.650 I say, "O Lord," you come and give your life to him 15:28.650 --> 15:31.050 and change and embrace righteousness. 15:31.050 --> 15:34.200 That's what the Bible says. You have to believe. 15:34.200 --> 15:37.470 Then, you confess and salvation comes. 15:37.470 --> 15:41.560 Now the question is, many have heard the message 15:42.420 --> 15:44.280 that Jesus died for everybody 15:44.280 --> 15:46.730 to restore their relationship between God in man. 15:47.820 --> 15:50.080 But so many people after hearing the message 15:51.120 --> 15:53.310 never acted faith on the message. 15:53.310 --> 15:55.080 They've heard the message, 15:55.080 --> 15:58.050 but the message found no faith in their heart. 15:58.050 --> 16:01.290 There was no root. Why? 16:01.290 --> 16:05.703 Because they were not convince that that was true for them. 16:07.380 --> 16:09.723 What is conviction? That is important. 16:11.460 --> 16:16.460 When the Word of God is preached and the Holy Ghost help us 16:17.370 --> 16:21.810 to see the reality of what is preached now, he will help me 16:21.810 --> 16:25.230 to understand the consequences of that sin is death. 16:25.230 --> 16:26.063 What is death? 16:26.063 --> 16:28.800 It's not physical death. It's spiritual death. 16:28.800 --> 16:30.370 Once we understand the message 16:31.320 --> 16:34.080 and we discover our need for salvation, 16:34.080 --> 16:35.700 Holy Ghost will convict yourself. 16:35.700 --> 16:39.303 Your conscious will tell you that you have missed the mark. 16:41.010 --> 16:44.677 And then when you realize that, your heart will tell you, 16:44.677 --> 16:47.130 "Run to Jesus for salvation." 16:47.130 --> 16:51.090 John the Baptist came in the morning and say, "Repent. 16:51.090 --> 16:53.487 The Kingdom of God is at hand." 16:54.900 --> 16:57.660 And the Bible says, people came all over, 16:57.660 --> 17:00.090 run to the River Jordan to be baptized by him. 17:00.090 --> 17:01.080 Why? 17:01.080 --> 17:03.570 Because their heart was convinced, 17:03.570 --> 17:06.480 convinced, and they came to him. 17:06.480 --> 17:09.508 They repented, were baptized by John, 17:09.508 --> 17:12.933 to embrace the righteous of God in Christ Jesus. 17:13.770 --> 17:16.593 Conviction is a response of your heart to the message. 17:18.420 --> 17:20.403 Not the brain, our heart. 17:21.750 --> 17:25.330 Now I want to give you a small example 17:26.190 --> 17:27.723 to put it in a practical way, 17:28.650 --> 17:32.080 how Revelation message can come to us 17:33.240 --> 17:35.790 and some will not attend to the Word. 17:35.790 --> 17:40.530 While some we realize that the message is true, 17:40.530 --> 17:41.670 and with the help of the Holy Ghost, 17:41.670 --> 17:43.265 the conscience will react to the message, 17:43.265 --> 17:45.033 their heart will burn 17:45.033 --> 17:49.500 and they will act on the revelation in (indistinct) ways. 17:49.500 --> 17:54.500 Now let's go to Acts 16, concerning Paul Apostle 17:55.590 --> 17:58.410 and Barnabas in their missionary journey. 17:58.410 --> 18:01.010 The scripture says they were led by the Holy Spirit. 18:01.860 --> 18:04.503 We can start reading from verse five. 18:05.790 --> 18:08.010 - So the churches were strengthened in the faith, 18:08.010 --> 18:10.380 and increased in number daily. 18:10.380 --> 18:12.480 Now when they had gone through Phrygia 18:12.480 --> 18:14.910 and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden 18:14.910 --> 18:17.520 by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. 18:17.520 --> 18:22.440 - One second.
